The Crater Series illuminates the intersections that can arise between femininity and trauma as well as the healing and growth that can come from the same experiences. Visually, this series is comprised of natural landscapes within large ceramic basins. The crater form was chosen because most of the large bowl shaped cavities on the earth’s surface comes from a geological explosion or impact. This impression can be devastating to the landscape at first, but often leads to a more fertile environment for plants and wildlife.
